Frankfurt Airport

The international airport Frankfurt (www.frankfurt-airport.de, code FRA) is the biggest German airport and is about 130km from Karlsruhe. Here planes start and land daily - almost hourly - from all over the world (more likely big airlines, not low-budget airlines.)

Important: Don't confuse Frankfurt Airport with Frankfurt-Hahn! (see below)

On the airport there's the train station "Frankfurt (M) Flughafen Fernbf". From here express trains run hourly to Karlsruhe. The ride takes 60-90 minutes; depending on the connection and including changing trains once; about 30 Euro for a single ride.

Stuttgart Airport

The international airport Stuttgart (www.stuttgart-airport.com, code STR) is about 80km from Karlsruhe and is operated both by big international airlines and smaller ones.

From Airport Stuttgart you get via S-Bahn (innercity train) for about 3 Euro to Stuttgart train station (30min). From there take a train (Deutsche Bahn) to Karlsruhe. The ride takes - depending on the connection - 30-120 min and costs 15-25 Euro.

Baden Airpark

Baden Airpark Karlsruhe (www.badenairpark.de, code FKB) Despite its name not in Karlsruhe, but is about 40 km outside town. It is operated only by small European airlines such as RyanAir or Air Berlin.

From Baden Airpart there's a direct bus-connection to Karlsruhe ((www.badenairpark.de, code FKB)), with 10 buses daily during the week and 4-5 buses on weekends (checked 11/07). One single ride costs about 10 Euro, for groups bigger than 30 people extra buses can be arranged via Baden Airpark Express. The fare includes two pieces of luggage per person, every extra piece of luggage costs 5 Euro. You pay directly at the conductor (in Euros, cash).

The bus arrives behind the main train station in Karlsruhe. Directions to the EJC can be checked at the section "by train".

Important: Groups bigger than 5 people have to pre-register at Baden Airpark Express and get a reduction!

The airport Frankfurt Hahn (www.hahn-airport.de, code HHN) is about 180km from Karlsruhe and doesn't have anything to do with Airport Frankfurt - despite of its name! Frankfurt Hahn is operated by European low-budget airline, especially RyanAir uses it as a hub.

From Frankfurt Hahn there's a direct bus-connection to Karlsruhe (www.hahn-express.de). It takes about 3 hours and costs about 30 Euro. Two pieces of luggage per person are free; every extra piece of luggage costs 5 Euro. Pay directly at the conductor (in Euro-cash).
